Join us as Fishermen’s Village celebrates with Key Limes in May!

The Inaugural Key Lime Festival begins at 10 am and continues until 9 pm, Saturday, May 18^th, 2013.

The all day festival will feature live music with Gator DJ, Southwest Florida’s Premier Mobile DJ from 11 am-3pm in Center Court and Renn Loren & Tiki Town Castaways, a “Tiki Trop Rock band with a spicy repertoire of classic-sounding dance-ready and party-friendly TexMex, Trop Rock, and hot Latin-flavored country rockin’ songs” from  5-9 pm in Center Court.

Dust off your dessert skills! The Key Lime theme will continue via “Who’s Got Punta Gorda’s Best Key Lime Dessert?” This contest is intended for amateur bakers only! The top 8 entries based on originality of recipe will be asked to participate in the contest. Judging will be held in Center Court at 12 Noon.  Prizes and ribbons will be awarded at 2pm.

Then, join us for the best Florida’s Bartender’s Key Lime Martini and Key Lime Margarita Challenge; this event is bartenders competing for the bragging rights of “Key Lime Cocktail Extraordinaire.”  The Challenge will begin at 1pm Village Fish Market, and end at Harpoon Harry’s at 4pm, prizes will be awarded at 5pm.

Village Specialty Shops will be offering items such as Key Lime Pies & Key Lime Cupcakes, Key Lime Frozen Yogurt, Key Lime Scented soaps, “Sweet Limes” oil & vinegar pairing and Key Lime Wine.

Face painting by Metamasque will be offered 11 am-5 pm located in Center Court Concourse.  Several Florida artisans will also be on site for your shopping pleasure.
