Fall may not be in the air (after all, we are in Florida!), but Oktoberfest activities are well underway for Saturday, October 12th, 2013!
Family Friendly Festivities begin at 10 am and continue until 6 pm. Sallie Jones Elementary Percussion Club and the East Elementary School Chorus take center stage shortly after 10 am to showcase their pride and talent!
Always a crowd favorite, the 4th annual Wiener Dog Derby takes place at 11:30 a.m. Have an eager dachshund ready to race? Go to http://www.saltypaws.com/wienerdogderby to download the registration form. Proceeds from the Wiener Dog Derby benefit our local Dachshund Rescues.
After enjoying the derby, plan to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of our five restaurants, many of which will offer German food specialties throughout the day. Browse the promenade during the afternoon and check out all the wonderful shops. . .
Oktoberfest would not be complete without German Music! Enjoy strolling Accordion Player, Peter Dee and the Steinswingers Ooompah Band performing German and Bavarian Polkas, Waltzes and Marches.
The music continues well into the evening with your favorite German tunes by Peter & Edith.
We look forward to your visit to Fishermen’s Village for our annual Oktoberfest!
