Fishermen’s Village is hosting the annual “Think Pink on the Pier” Breast Cancer Awareness event Saturday, April 30th! Come out for a day of fun-filled events starting with The Memorial Survivor Walk at 8:30 a.m., where all proceeds go towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation of South West Florida for Breast Cancer patients and the American Breast Cancer Society. The walk will begin at Fishermen’s Village, then proceed towards Gilcrest and ending with a stroll down Marion avenue. Registration is required for participation and forms are available on our website, www.fishville.com. Fishermen’s Village will have registration available prior to the race on the day of the event as well.
Bring out your creativity and decorate your favorite bra or bust for the next event of the day, “Save the Ta-Tas”, and enter the contest to be voted the People’s Choice Winner for the best creation! Voting begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. with the award ceremony at 3:30. Participants will be able to put their pieces of bra art on display throughout the Village.
This years new activity will be next called “The Stiletto Sprint” beginning at 2:00 p.m. in front of the Linear Park and ending in front of the Village entrance. Dust off your stiletos and complete the registration required-forms available at Fishville.com!
After the sweat of the sprint, enjoy a nice cocktail with the next event, the “Cocktail Cool Down” in the Center Court at 2:30 p.m. The Village Fish Market will be catering “pink” drinks in support for the fight against Breast Cancer. Live entertainment starts at 5 p.m. so bring family and friends to support the participating merchants providing Pink on the Pier merchandise. Call 941 575-3067 for details!
